Atlantic Forestry Centre (AFC)

Canadian Wood Fibre Centre (CWFC)

Developing innovative solutions that support sustainable wood fibre supplies and market-ready uses. Staff and researchers are located at all Canadian Forest Service research centres across Canada.

Great Lakes Forestry Centre (GLFC)

Home to a one-of-a-kind research facility that employs clean-room technology and enables scientists to study alien invasive insects. Located in Sault Ste. Marie, ON.

Laurentian Forestry Centre (LFC)

Research and knowledge dissemination activities on the forest ecosystem, its components and their interactions. Located in Québec City, QC.

National research forests

Living laboratories that are home to many important research studies to inform best practices in forest management. Located in NB, ON and QC.

National Tree Seed Centre

Home to +13,000 unique seed collections from 200 tree and shrub species. Canada’s only national seed bank preserving the genetic diversity of our forests. Located in Fredericton, NB.

Northern Forestry Centre (NoFC)

Leads and contributes to integrated, interdisciplinary research on nationally significant sustainable forest management issues. Located in Edmonton, AB.

Pacific Forestry Centre (PFC)

Works with forest sector stakeholders regionally, nationally and international to undertake the science behind challenging forest issues. Located in Victoria, BC.
