Greener Neighbourhoods Pilot Program – Market Development Teams

NRCan’s Greener Neighbourhoods Pilot Program (GNPP) supports regional Market Development Teams (MDTs) in their work to accelerate the market for aggregated deep energy retrofits in low-rise residential buildings in Canada. Conseil régional de l’environnement et du développement durable de l’Outaouais

Conseil régional de l’environnement et du développement durable de l’Outaouais (CREDDO) is leading the Outaouais Green Building Community project, the main objective of which is to develop the market for fast, large-scale energy retrofits in the low-rise residential sector. This project has the potential to create tangible benefits for the energy efficiency of the region's building stock, in addition to other social and economic benefits.

Earthrise Building Services

Earthrise Building Services is an energy assessment and retrofit support company based in Whitehorse providing end-to-end support for homeowners undertaking deep energy retrofits. Through GNPP, Earthrise will build regional capacity to drive market transformation towards deploying deep energy retrofit solutions by adapting the Energiesprong approach to the Yukon context.

Sustainable Buildings Canada

Sustainable Buildings Canada (SBC) is a national non-profit organization based in Toronto dedicated to helping developers, builders, and building operators achieve high performance outcomes in the built environment, encompassing a range of positive results including healthy spaces, lower energy and water use, clean and renewable energy and positive behavioural outcomes. Through GNPP, SBC will drive market transformation towards rapid-deployable deep energy retrofit solutions for Ontario’s existing social housing through collaborative engagement with key market actors, development of resources to support capacity building and training, and complementary targeted market intervention activities.

The National Retrofit Repository Project will provide a complementary knowledge library to Market Developments Teams, Demonstration projects and Canadians, empowering industry professionals to perform deep energy retrofits, driving economic growth within this sector of the building industry.

Retrofit Canada Society

Retrofit Canada’s mission is to collect, curate, and share retrofit solutions to accelerate deep retrofits in Canada by making them easier to and more affordable to build. Their team will develop an online national repository of case studies, enclosure assemblies, construction details, and solutions guide to inform deep energy retrofits across Canada.
