Project Objectives

The objective of this project is to increase the uptake of deep energy retrofits among social housing buildings in eastern Ontario.

Expected Results

This project aims to:

  1. Develop a model for aggregated deep energy retrofits in social housing.
  2. Establish a framework for large-scale purchasing agreements to benefit retrofits.
  3. Identify pathways to implementing and scaling up retrofits, covering technical, regulatory, and financial aspects.
  4. Improve access to retrofit financing for social housing providers.
  5. Reduce retrofit costs and planning time by creating standardized affordable models.
  6. Drive local manufacturing of key retrofit materials through economy of scale.
  7. Support social housing providers in eastern Ontario with planning, execution, and outcome monitoring of retrofit projects.
