FEED Studies for CCUS Facilities
This call, under the Energy Innovation Program (EIP), will provide up to $50 million in support for Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) studies for carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) projects that have the potential to significantly mitigate emissions. These projects will increase the knowledge base for applying CCUS technologies to different types of facilities in Canada. Completed FEED studies are expected to lead to the following broad outcomes:
- Advancing engineering experience for large CCUS capital projects, producing references and analyses of performance and cost for new technologies and approaches to inform the development of next generation technology
- Increasing the likelihood that CCUS will be constructed at scale in Canada across different industries, supporting different technologies and approaches to CO2 capture, transportation, usage and sequestration
- Increasing the knowledge base of applying CCUS to different industrial facilities, supporting future replications across Canada and internationally
