Satellite Receiving Stations
NRCan’s satellite station facilities are strategically located across Canada to ensure coverage of Canada’s landmass and waters. These stations track and receive data in real-time from satellites for scientific, mapping, weather, surveillance and other purposes.

Gatineau Satellite Station
This station receives satellite imagery over the eastern part of Canada, the United States and parts of the Atlantic Ocean.
Inuvik Satellite Station Facility
Due to its unique position above the Arctic Circle, this station receives the most data out of NRCan’s satellite station facilities.
Prince Albert Satellite Station
The station acts as the central control hub for Natural Resources Canada’s three ground stations.
