Canada Greener Homes Initiative: Highlights and Program Updates
The Canada Greener Homes Initiative helps homeowners save money, creates new jobs and takes action against climate change. To date, the Oil to Heat Pumps Affordability program, the Canada Greener Homes Grant and Canada Greener Home Loan have helped tens of thousands of Canadian homeowners improve the energy efficiency of their homes by making upgrades such as switching to heat pumps for heating and cooling, installing efficient windows and doors, and improving home insulation.
Key highlights as of July 2024
- 159,590 new heat pumps installed with federal support since December 2020
- Over a billion dollars in grants issued to date under Canada Greener Homes Grant
- Four co-delivery agreements signed with British Columbia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island to roll-out the Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program along with provincial and territorial program
