Project Objectives
The project will present solutions to address climate change and will explore different clean energy technologies to reduce diesel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions in the community. The project team will lead community engagement activities including a series of community meetings and energy workshops, as well as Youth and Elders-focused gatherings to explore topics of energy and community development. Training and skills development opportunities will also be brought to the community, including solar power basics and project management skills.
Expected Results
The project aims to gain community buy-in to develop a community energy plan that is actionable, empowering, and effective. The community energy plan will identify clean energy generation projects that will displace diesel and accelerate energy efficiency improvements in the community.
