Project Objectives

The objective of the project is to assess a site in the St. Lawrence Lowlands of Quebec in preparation for a pilot CO₂ geological storage project, with the ultimate goal of quantifying the long-term potential.

Expected Results

This project aims to:

1. Better understand the carbon capture and storage potential in Quebec, where capacity remains poorly characterized, notably by supporting the development of regulatory frameworks.
2. Reduce uncertainties using 3D seismic data and well testing, replacing older models based on 2D data and limited measurements.
