Project Objectives

The objective of the project is to accelerate renewable energy co-operatives in Canada by developing regulatory roadmaps, conducting policy analysis to promote community-owned energy, resilience, economic benefits, and regulatory innovation for a sustainable future.

Project Objectives

This project aims to:

  1. Enable community-owned renewable energy to drive local economic growth, improve grid resilience, reduce emissions, enhance energy affordability, and advance regulatory innovation toward a more sustainable, decentralized electricity future.
  2. Provide stakeholder benefits through regulatory clarity, capacity-building, and collaboration by supporting renewable energy co-operatives with policy frameworks, providing policymakers with data-driven roadmaps, strengthening utility grid resilience, and enabling academia to contribute research and training on decentralized, community-owned renewable energy solutions.
