Project Objectives
The objective of this project is to optimize hydrogen co-combustion performance and emissions reduction in retrofitted heavy-duty trucks, validated through field trials with commercial fleets.
Expected Results
This project aims to:
- Train highly qualified professionals in industry and academia, in research and development, manufacturing, and maintenance of retrofitted hydrogen-fuelled vehicles.
- Develop technology to reduce greenhouse gases, pollutant emissions, and operational costs in heavy-duty trucks.
- Develop Canadian IP for hydrogen control systems and machine learning algorithms.
- Facilitate broader adoption of hydrogen technology in commercial trucking fleets.
- Ensure compatibility with all internal combustion OEM systems; implementation is reversible and can maximize system lifetime.
- Share non-confidential research through peer reviewed journals and conferences to promote benefits and adaptability.
