Project Objectives

The objective of this project is to increase the scale of the Anozyme bio-electrochemical CO₂-to-formate conversion technology along with the production capacity of the Anozyme components.

Expected Results

This project aims to:

1. Decarbonize industrial formate production by using CO₂ as feedstock, supporting Canada’s CO₂ reduction targets.
2. Provide an avenue to offtake CO₂ from industrial emitters by offering an industrial method of CO₂ utilization.
3. Help Canadian companies reduce carbon emission liabilities while monetizing CO₂ streams.
4. Produce valuable formate from waste CO₂, with potential to extend Anozyme technology to other hydrocarbon production pathways through enzyme modification.
