Project Objectives

The objective of this project is to increase the scale of the Anozyme bio-electrochemical CO2-to-formate conversion technology along with the production capacity of the Anozyme components.

Expected Results

This project aims to:

  1. Decarbonize industrial formate production by using CO2 as feedstock, supporting Canada’s CO2 reduction targets.
  2. Provide an avenue to offtake CO2 from industrial emitters by offering an industrial method of CO2 utilization.
  3. Help Canadian companies reduce carbon emission liabilities while monetizing CO2 streams.
  4. Produce valuable formate from waste CO2, with potential to extend Anozyme technology to other hydrocarbon production pathways through enzyme modification.
