Project Objectives

The objective of this project is to build on previous NRCan-funded work through the Indigenous Off-Diesel Initiative (IODI). The fourth and final phase of work will focus on three proposed project activities including: two small solar PV systems for community buildings; capacity wage support for a clean energy team member and EnerGuide Assessor; and energy efficiency retrofits.

Expected Results

This project aims to:

  1. Install two solar PV projects totalling between 30-50 kw installed capacity.
  2. Enhance remote communities' capacity to implement renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions, improving affordability, reliability, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
  3. Generate local sustainable employment, reduce diesel use, and deliver cost savings for homeowner and communities.
