Project Objectives

The objective of this project is to assess the potential for carbon storage in Atlantic Canada including offshore reservoirs.

Expected Results

This project aims to:

1. Enhance global competitiveness by addressing geochemical and geomechanically knowledge gaps.
2. Share results openly for academic, strategic, policy, and/or potential commercial use.
3. Create a regional assessment tool with a map and formation evaluation dataset.
4. Provide innovative and cost-effective ways to monitor CO2 and improve analysis reliability.
5. Establish carbon capture capacity and strengthen long-term sequestration.
