Project Objectives

The objective of this project is to update the CAN-REGEN model to better reflect dynamics related to fuel supply and sector coupling between electricity and end-use sectors.

Expected Results

This project aims to:

1. Increase the diversity of modelling results on different net-zero pathways available to Canadians.
2. Present these results in an accessible public format to support wider engagement on technology’s role in achieving net-zero.
3. Generate publicly available modelling infrastructure (code and input data) that enables any Canadian energy modeller to replicate and reassess the project.
