Project Objectives

The objective of this project is to demonstrate the operational viability of a clean energy microgrid to provide heat and power in the Arctic.

Expected Results

This project aims to:

  1. Reduce diesel use in a remote Canadian community, improving air quality, reducing electricity costs, and creating clean energy jobs in Nunavut.
  2. Validate the technical and economic feasibility of clean energy technologies for safe, reliable heat and power in the Arctic.
  3. Offer businesses in the land development with stable, cost-effective, and clean energy for operations.
  4. Create clean energy employment and career opportunities for Inuit and other regional residents.
