Project Objectives
The objective of this project is to demonstrate the operational viability of a clean energy microgrid to provide heat and power in the Arctic.
Expected Results
This project aims to:
- Reduce diesel use in a remote Canadian community, improving air quality, reducing electricity costs, and creating clean energy jobs in Nunavut.
- Validate the technical and economic feasibility of clean energy technologies for safe, reliable heat and power in the Arctic.
- Offer businesses in the land development with stable, cost-effective, and clean energy for operations.
- Create clean energy employment and career opportunities for Inuit and other regional residents.
