Project Objectives
The objective of this project is to demonstrate and validate a scalable Spray Freeze Heating (SFH) system as a low-emission alternative to traditional fossil-fuel-based mine heating.
Expected Results
This project aims to:
- Support national decarbonization goals, cleaner mining operations, and contribute to Canada’s climate commitments and reductions in remote-site emissions.
- Strengthen economic development in northern and remote regions by improving the viability and competitiveness of resource development, supporting Canadian jobs, supply chains, and long-term community stability.
- Improve operational efficiency and reliability for mining operators through a more stable, efficient, and safer heating solution for Arctic conditions that lowers operating costs and enhances winter performance.
- Reduce environmental and social risks at mine sites and support stronger environmental, social, and governance policy performance, improving regulatory alignment, and strengthening relationships with local and Indigenous stakeholders.
