Project Objectives
The objective of this project is to improve understanding of CO₂ plume behaviour in deep saline rock formations by drilling a new evaluation well and collecting physical samples and long-term monitoring data.
Expected Results
This project aims to:
- Demonstrate the long-term effectiveness, safety, and commercial viability of CCUS projects in deep saline formations for reducing GHG emissions.
- Drive economic development and investment across industries such as oil and gas, steel, cement, fertilizer, and large-scale agricultural processing.
- Support CCUS policy development in Saskatchewan and Canada.
- Enable knowledge transfer and data sharing with academia, scientific research organizations, and industry.
- Provide Indigenous communities with opportunities for procurement, collaboration, capacity building, and participation in CO₂ hub development and supply chains.
