Project Objectives

The objective of this project is to develop a continuous methane monitoring camera with improved performance and lower cost relative to current commercially available continuous monitoring technologies of the same technology type.

Expected Results

This project aims to:

1. Advance methane reduction in the oil and gas industry by improving detection accuracy, reducing quantification uncertainties, and enabling more timely emissions.
2. Provide the Canadian energy sector with more accessible and lower-cost continuous monitoring solutions.
3. Support the economic competitiveness of Canada’s energy exports by facilitating more robust and transparent emissions intensity data for the natural gas supply chain.
