The National Forest Pest Management Forum is held every year in Ottawa, Ontario, with options to attend in-person or online. It is hosted by the Canadian Institute of Forestry and organized by Natural Resources Canada in support of the National Forest Pest Strategy.
The Forum brings together forest pest management experts, scientists, forest managers and practitioners from across Canada. Participants from government industry, academia and non-governmental organizations meet to discuss and coordinate research related to forest insects and diseases.
The forum focuses on sharing information about:
- innovative scientific research
- current and future forest health conditions across Canada and the United States
- pest control operations
- environmental issues
- alternatives to chemical insecticides
- new technologies
- Indigenous perspectives on forest health management
