Summary
The ENERGY STAR® Canada Brand Book provides instructions on how to correctly use the ENERGY STAR name and marks in Canada. It includes guidelines, examples of common uses and misuses of the ENERGY STAR marks and information on how to report improper use to the Government of Canada to ensure brand compliance.
The ENERGY STAR brand is an asset with appreciable value and it must be properly protected. Ensuring that the marks are used correctly protects every ENERGY STAR participant's investment in the program and consumer confidence in the ENERGY STAR brand.
Permission of use
The ENERGY STAR and Portfolio Manager® names and symbol are trademarks registered in Canada by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and are administered and promoted by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan).
Program participants are authorized to use the ENERGY STAR name and symbols in the Canadian marketplace in accordance with the Brand Book. Organizations that are not ENERGY STAR participants may apply to join or gain a limited use permission from NRCan.
