English

Kuukpak, Dehcho, Grande Rivière, Deho and Nagwichoonjik all translate as “big (or great) river” in the Inuvialuktun, Dene Zhatıé, Michif, Sahtúot'ı̨nę Yatı̨́ and Dinjii Zhu' Ginjik languages respectively, all spoken in the North. Also known as the Mackenzie River, it is Canada’s largest and longest river system and a lifeline to the communities along its course.
