Newfoundland and Labrador

The Newfoundland and Labrador Regional Energy and Resource Table launched on June 1, 2022. Through this Regional Table, the Government of Canada and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador – with the ongoing collaboration of Indigenous partners – have identified actions and areas of opportunity that will help build a prosperous clean economy in the province and contribute to Canada’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

There are 4 opportunity areas that could significantly enhance Newfoundland and Labrador’s comparative advantage in the clean energy and natural resources sectors:

• Electrification
• Carbon capture, utilization and storage
