Sustainable Jobs Partnership Council

The Sustainable Jobs Partnership Council will meet with people from across Canada and develop independent advice to the Government on how it can best support workers and communities and advance low-carbon economic growth.

The Council’s role

With 13 members representing labour, industry, Indigenous peoples, and other key stakeholders, the Council will:

  • provide relevant experience and knowledge to deliver independent advice to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources
  • engage with Canadians to ensure their voices are central to federal action
  • advise on measures to foster sustainable job creation and to support workers, communities, and regions in the shift to a net-zero economy
  • coordinate advice with the Net-Zero Advisory Body and reach out to other relevant bodies across the federal landscape

Appointment process

The Governor in Council appointment process to establish the Partnership Council will be launched in the coming months and Council membership will be updated accordingly.
