Description of the objective
Issue
These amendments were suggested by the Standing Joint Committee for the Scrutiny of Regulations (SJCSR) to clarify unclear language and inconsistencies within the Regulations.
Description of the Regulation
The Timber Regulations, 1993, are made under the Forestry Act and relate to the cutting and removal of timber on federal lands. These Regulations outline the general terms and conditions under which permits and agreements may be entered into with forest companies and/or individuals.
Indication of business impacts
There are no expected business impacts.
Public consultation opportunities
Canadians will have an opportunity to provide their input in response to a pre-publication of the draft amendments in the Canada Gazette Part 1. This opportunity to comment is anticipated to occur in 2016.
