What is energy benchmarking?

Energy benchmarking is an important initiative for improving energy performance. It is the ongoing review of your organization's energy consumption to determine if your hotel's energy performance is getting better or worse. By making energy benchmarking a routine practice, you can:

• establish a baseline for measuring improvement

What is Portfolio Manager?

Portfolio Manager is a free, on-line, and secure platform that allows you to monitor and optimize your building's energy use and compare it to others in its class. And it’s the only place you can apply for ENERGY STAR building certification.

How do I get my hotel certified?

To be eligible for ENERGY STAR certification, a hotel must earn a score of 75 or higher on the 1–100 ENERGY STAR scale. Certified hotels are also eligible for the annual ENERGY STAR Canada Building of the Year Award.
