National Forest Pest Management Forum

The 67th National Forest Pest Management Forum (December 3 to 5, 2024) will be held in-person at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown in Ottawa, Ontario and virtually via Zoom. The forum is hosted by the Canadian Institute of Forestry (CIF).

Organized by Natural Resources Canada and in support of the National Forest Pest Strategy, the Forum is the largest and most significant gathering of forest pest management experts, scientists, managers and practitioners in Canada. Federal, provincial, territorial, municipal, industrial and nongovernmental organizations, as well as academia, meet to discuss and coordinate research related to forest insects and diseases.

The objectives of the Forum include sharing information on:

  • the latest innovative scientific research
  • current and future forest health conditions across Canada & the United States, including insects and diseases
  • pest control operations
  • environmental issues
  • the development of alternatives to chemical insecticides
  • new technologies
  • Indigenous perspectives on forest health management
