The Indigenous Career Navigator program gives Indigenous public servants advice and guidance to navigate recruitment, development, and advancement. The program also supports managers, provides guidance on how best to support Indigenous employees at NRCan, and advises on implementing Indigenous recruitment and retention strategies.
Meet NRCan’s Indigenous Career Navigator

Hi, I’m Colleen Ahntholz, I am the Indigenous Career Navigator at NRCan and have been doing this type of work for about 10 years across various departments. You can think of me as an Indigenous recruitment and retention “helpdesk” for NRCan.
I am a member of the Manitoba Metis Federation, and a proud Red River Metis citizen. My family maintains a very traditional lifestyle and I am quite involved in my local Metis community. I have been a Federal Public Servant since 1999, working in 3 different departments. As a long-time federal employee, my passion is to help Indigenous Peoples succeed in the Public Service.
