Funding description
This anticipatory call for proposals will provide up to $30.75 million in contribution funding for projects that diversify exports of Canadian wood products (market and product diversification).
Eligible recipients
Eligible initial recipients for contribution funding from Canada’s Global Forest Leadership Program are individuals or legal entities validly incorporated or registered in Canada, including:
- not-for-profit organizations
- intergovernmental organizations
- universities, academic and vocational institutions
- co-operatives
- Indigenous organizations (not-for-profit) and communities
- provincial, territorial, regional and municipal governments, as well as other levels of government, and their departments and agencies where applicable.

Canada’s Global Forest Leadership Program launched an anticipatory Call for Proposals for funding projects that support diversification of Canada’s forest sector markets and products. Applications were submitted within our application window, which closed on March 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (EDT).
The applications are currently being reviewed. We will inform applicants individually via email once assessments have been completed.
Information sessions
The program hosted public online information sessions in February 2026 for the anticipatory Call for Proposals for contribution funding, in both English and French. To receive a recording of one or more of these sessions, contact the Global Forest Leadership Program team.
