Manufacturing in Canada for more than 27 years, JELD-WEN continues to offer homeowners a full line of window and door products across the country at every price point. JELD-WEN of Canada, a subsidiary of JELD-WEN Holding, Inc., manufactures three regionally specific window and door collections out of their manufacturing facilities located in Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec.

The company also operates an exterior/interior door manufacturing facility in Quebec and an interior door manufacturing centre in Manitoba. Rounding out their commitment to the Canadian marketplace, JELD-WEN of Canada operates a moulding and interior door distribution centre in New Brunswick, serving all Atlantic Canada.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Expanded offering of ENERGY STAR certified products available to consumers by 16% in 2022, up 46% since 2020.
  • Shipped over 63,000 ENERGY STAR certified products to homes across Canada.
  • 83% of all traditional and digital media focused on ENERGY STAR certified products/programs.
  • 6,500 new home builds in the Ontario region alone used JELD-WEN ENERGY STAR certified products.
  • Expanded reach nationally by not only continuing to share ENERGY STAR information across all mediums and tactics in both English and French, but also through accessible documents, ensuring there are no barriers for all Canadians to access of information.

An ENERGY STAR Canada participant since 2003, Samsung is dedicated to making meaningful contributions to fight climate change by developing more energy-efficient products. Through their partnership with ENERGY STAR, Samsung is committed to core technologies and innovations that have a profound and positive impact on the spaces in which we live, and the environment.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Introduced 51 new ENERGY STAR certified product models.
  • 100% of Samsung front-load washers, dishwashers, and refrigerators were ENERGY STAR certified.
  • Launched SmartThings Energy – an app that monitors energy use and provides recommendations to help users reduce energy consumption of their appliances.
  • Amplified ENERGY STAR initiatives via social media channels, including their participation in the ‘12 Days of ENERGY STAR’ campaign, ENERGY STAR Day, ENERGY STAR Awards, and an ENERGY STAR promotional offer on Earth Day.
  • Partnered with influencers to promote ENERGY STAR certified appliances, gaining an impressive 130 million impressions across social media platforms.
  • Highlighted Samsung ENERGY STAR certified appliances prominently at national retailer partner stores across Canada with in-store point-of-purchase materials.

Improving everyday living through cutting-edge solutions, Copeland specializes in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) controls, showcasing their Sensi smart thermostat solution. Copeland Sensi is an industry trailblazer, not only redefining home climate control but also championing the cause of sustainability and energy conservation.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Promoted their "Plant a Tree" Earth Day initiative, where for every Sensi smart thermostat sold, a tree was planted. This initiative not only underscored their commitment to safeguarding the planet but also highlighted the wide range of ENERGY STAR certified thermostats offered.
  • Participated in Natural Resources Canada’s ‘12 Days of ENERGY STAR’ campaign by donating six Sensi smart thermostats and promoted their benefits across social media platforms.
  • Endorsed the installation of ENERGY STAR certified thermostats through their Sensi Utility Rebates campaign, helping Canadians transform their homes into energy-smart havens and tap into valuable rebates.
  • Promoted energy efficiency to Canadians through tips and articles on their Sensi Mobile App.

L’Image Home Products Inc.

Montréal-based L’Image Home Products Inc., designs, develops, and manufactures a wide range of lighting products and brings affordable, energy-efficient lighting products to a variety of retail channels across North America. L’Image is a proud and engaged ENERGY STAR Participant in Canada and is constantly thriving to increase ENERGY STAR awareness through effective product design, trustworthy customer relationships, and creative marketing.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Their engineering team redesigned products to be more efficient, save more energy, and be more effective in the changing market.
  • 46% of total sales were ENERGY STAR certified product models.
  • Developed and certified eight new lamps and luminaires.
  • Amplified ENERGY STAR’s messaging and participated in ENERGY STAR initiatives including the ‘12 Days of ENERGY STAR’ campaign (donating six light fixtures for the giveaway), ENERGY STAR Day, and Earth Day.
  • Participated in and hosted meetings with various organisations, including large Canadian retailers, to emphasize the ENERGY STAR mission and its significant role within their business.

The Home Depot Canada

An ENERGY STAR Canada Participant since 2001, The Home Depot Canada is one of the country’s biggest home improvement retailers, with 182 stores across the country. The Home Depot caters to "do-it-yourselfers”, as well as home improvement, construction and building maintenance professionals. Through its commitment to sustainability, the company recognizes ENERGY STAR as a trusted brand whose familiar symbol lends credibility to the store’s energy-efficient products. Throughout The Home Depot Canada stores, consumers can find a wide array of ENERGY STAR certified products including appliances, commercial products, electronics, windows and doors, HVAC equipment, and lighting.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • The Home Depot Home Services qualified professionals continued to help customers navigate the Canada Greener Homes Grant program and their purchase of eligible ENERGY STAR certified heating and window and door products.  The Home Depot is committed to helping customers make better choices when considering energy efficient upgrades to their homes.
  • Continued to work with Enbridge to provide instant rebates, for eligible and validated customers, on ENERGY STAR certified smart thermostats through the Enbridge Gas Smart Thermostat program. The Home Depot is the only brick and mortar retailer to support this program.
  • Worked with vendors and utility partners across the country to promote the uptake of ENERGY STAR certified products through instant rebate programs as well as online rebate programs. Continued innovative partnership with BC Hydro on their Power Smart Shop which highlights energy efficient and ENERGY STAR certified products.

Corbeil has been a pioneer in the appliance industry since 1949, acclaimed for its unwavering commitment to excellence and continuous pursuit of innovation. Having transitioned to Canadian ownership in 2017 and now operating 25 stores in Quebec and Ontario, Corbeil stands out as the largest regional retailer specializing exclusively in household appliances, providing customers an impressive selection of over 100 top-quality brands. Corbeil Head office is situated in Laval, Quebec.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Made a year-round commitment to their green choice, highlighted through ENERGY STAR-dedicated campaigns on social media and outdoor advertising throughout the year.
  • Used ENERGY STAR as a selection criterion for products featured in three circulars during the year, totalling over 80,000 views.
  • Conducted an influencer marketing campaign promoting ENERGY STAR certified products, featuring three publications as part of an ENERGY STAR contest, to reach a target audience of environmentally conscious individuals aged 25 to 45 in Quebec and Ontario.
  • Reinforced environmental commitment by integrating ENERGY STAR into daily operations as the standard for eco-friendly choices, leading to ENERGY STAR certified products now accounting for 41% of sales.

takeCHARGE (Newfoundland Power and Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro)

Through a collaborative initiative, takeCHARGE combines the expertise and customer reach of Newfoundland and Labrador’s two electricity utilities: Newfoundland Power and Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro. These utility partners work together to bring energy efficiency awareness and rebate programs to people across the province. takeCHARGE provides a one-stop-shop for everything residents and businesses need to know about energy efficiency, all while making it more affordable.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Offered at-the-cash rebates on a variety of ENERGY STAR certified products at 43 retail locations.
  • Provided incentives to residential customers on approximately 91,000 ENERGY STAR certified products. These products provided customers with over 5,311 MWh of savings annually.
  • Installed 19 Level 2 ENERGY STAR certified electric vehicle (EV) chargers across the province to help residents have better access to charging their EVs while on the road.
  • Donated approximately 22,000 ENERGY STAR certified LED bulbs to 60 partners, including non-profit organizations, and charities across the province through the Make the Switch LED giveaway.
  • Provided outreach and education on energy-efficient products through the Isolated Direct Install Program to home and business owners in remote diesel-system communities across the province. 4,021 ENERGY STAR certified light bulbs were installed in 196 homes and businesses across six communities.
  • Provided 13 virtual school presentations at 12 different schools across the province to educate 552 grade K-6 students about energy efficiency and ENERGY STAR certified products.
  • Through the New Energy Savers Kit program, takeCHARGE distributed 2,262 Energy Savers kits to income-qualified customers across the province. This represents 6,786 ENERGY STAR LED lightbulbs and over 1,765 MWh of annual savings.

The Government of Prince Edward Island founded efficiencyPEI in 2008 to increase energy efficiency across the province. The organization is committed to providing Islanders with advice and programs that will promote sustainable energy use and reinforce the importance of sound energy management for the economic, social, and environmental well-being of Island residents and businesses.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Installed ENERGY STAR certified products for 478 low-income islanders as part of the Winter Warming Program.
  • Increased participation in the Home Insulation Rebate program by 62%, providing rebates on ENERGY STAR certified windows and doors, air sealing and building envelope insulation. This includes an increase of 166% in the number of ENERGY STAR certified windows and doors from 674 to 1795.
  • Installed 335 ENERGY STAR certified products, including heat recovery ventilators (HRVs), water heaters, and boilers through the Energy Efficiency Equipment Rebate program. 
  • Completed two instant savings campaigns, which provided in-store rebates on over 44,000 ENERGY STAR certified products, which resulted in 2.97 GWh of energy savings.
  • Through a partnership with Lennox Island First Nations, provided free energy audits and installed 65 ENERGY STAR certified heat pumps and 11 ENERGY STAR certified HRV units through the program.

Stirling Marathon

Stirling Marathon is a Canadian family-owned manufacturer of specialty home appliances in North America, including chest and upright freezers, refrigerators, electric ranges and built-in wine and beverage coolers, all under the Stirling, Marathon and Epic brands. The company puts energy efficiency at the forefront with their passion to develop, design and manufacture appliances in Ontario.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Continued to expand their ENERGY STAR Most Efficient product offerings.
  • Focused marketing efforts on increasing consumer knowledge on the ENERGY STAR program, emphasizing products that have earned the ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2022 recognition.
  • Hosted presentations and training sessions for their customer service and sales staff as well as downstream retailers and dealers on the benefits and features of ENERGY STAR certified products and the Most Efficient designation.
  • Participated in private and public housing projects where many fridges selected earned the ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2022 recognition.

  • Executed a robust national Connected Home campaign showcasing ENERGY STAR certified LG Home Appliance products to drive awareness, consideration and purchase, resulting in millions of impressions across broadcast and digital platforms with a 360-degree marketing approach.
  • Expanded their home appliance product portfolio, further expanding LG’s list of ENERGY STAR certified products in 2022.
  • Developed Canadian-specific blogs focused on sustainability and energy savings with a spotlight on LG ENERGY STAR certified products.

All Weather Windows

Operating for almost 45 years, All Weather Windows is Canada's largest privately owned window and door manufacturer. With customer solution centres in seven cities, close to 800 dealers across Western Canada, and a leading-edge manufacturing plant in Edmonton, the company produces a full range of energy efficient and sustainable window and door products built for Canadian weather. 

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Continued to offer customers alternative glass options that met or surpassed ENERGY STAR certification criteria while glass supply was allocated and in short supply.
  • All new products launched in 2022 had glazing options and configurations that not only met but exceeded ENERGY STAR certification criteria.
  • Acted as a brand advocate proudly displaying the ENERGY STAR logo on all company materials.
  • Supported end consumers and builders in choosing the right ENERGY STAR certified products to ensure they meet the criteria for rebates.

Nordik Windows Inc.

Nordik Windows began as a small local company that has since grown to manufacture, sell, and install windows throughout Ontario and Quebec, having recently expanded to international markets as well. Nordik Windows offers a wide range of energy-efficient windows, with many models earning the ENERGY STAR Most Efficient designation. The organization has been an ENERGY STAR Canada Participant since 2006 and continues to show a strong commitment to energy efficiency in Canada.

In addition to supporting energy efficiency, Nordik Windows Inc. has partnered with a reforestation organization to plant one tree for every window installed, with a total of 116,134 trees to be planted so far.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Continuously improved and expanded product lines to be more energy efficient.
  • Featured ENERGY STAR in social media advertisements reaching over 3 million people, and in over 1,135 radio advertisements.
  • Trained all sales representatives and other staff on the ENERGY STAR brand and benefits.
  • Distributed over 24,000 product catalogues, prominently featuring ENERGY STAR certified products.
  • Championed organization-wide, environmentally-focused initiatives, including sales fleet electrification, production waste recycling, paperless documentation, and one tree planted for every window installed.

This is Nordik Windows Inc.’s first ENERGY STAR Canada award!

RONA Canada

Founded in 1939 in Boucherville (Quebec), RONA Inc. is one of the leading retailers helping bring Canada closer to a greener future. Through its selection of products with the most reputable environmental certifications, such as ENERGY STAR, RONA Inc. is committed to reducing the environmental footprint of homeowners across Canada. The company prioritizes their goal of protecting the environment by carrying out many environmental initiatives, such as offering a wide range of ECO products, as well as promoting ENERGY STAR certified products in some 425 stores across Canada. RONA Inc. is headquartered in Boucherville, Quebec.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Trained over 10,300 store employees on environmentally responsible products, including the benefits of the ENERGY STAR certification.
  • Increased participation in the Canada Greener Homes Grant through the promotion of eligible ENERGY STAR certified products.
  • Advertised ENERGY STAR certified products through promotional campaigns for their ECO products online and across social media platforms.
  • Increased the visibility of ENERGY STAR certified products by displaying them in stores, on flyers and on their websites along with additional content on energy benefits.
  • Promoted ENERGY STAR certified products in key categories, such as household appliances and recessed lighting.

Independent Electricity System Operator–Save on Energy

The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) works at the heart of Ontario's power system. The IESO delivers key services across the electricity sector, including managing the power system in real-time, planning for the province's future energy needs, enabling conservation and designing a more efficient electricity marketplace to support sector evolution. Through the Save on Energy brand, the IESO offers programs and incentives to help individuals and businesses use energy more wisely and achieve greater energy efficiency.  

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Offered incentives through the Small Business Program for a variety of energy-efficient lighting and refrigeration measures - including ENERGY STAR certified lighting options, occupancy sensors, motors for evaporator and condenser fans, strip curtains for walk-in coolers and freezers, and a web-enabled smart thermostat. Through this program, over 3,150 participants received ENERGY STAR certified products.
  • Promoted ENERGY STAR certified LED lighting and other energy-efficient products in the Energy Affordability Program directed at income-qualified Ontarians. These products were directly installed free of charge in the homes of qualified participants. ENERGY STAR certified products are also included in energy-saving kits that are provided free of charge to qualified participants. More than 30,000 homes received ENERGY STAR certified products through this program.

As part of delivering these two programs, the IESO worked closely with program vendors. These partner vendors performed daily outreach across the province as they enroll businesses and residential customers into the programs, providing direct installation of and offering incentives for ENERGY STAR measures.

  • The Foodservice Distributor Discount program became available in 2022 and serviced over 1,200 businesses in the food service sector by providing them with discounts on the purchase on several ENERGY STAR certified products. This program was delivered in collaboration with Enbridge Gas.
  • Created an online tool, called My Energy Action Plan, that recommends ENERGY STAR certified products and specific buying guides for certified products. The page saw 11,000 visitors in 2022.
  • Promoted ENERGY STAR certified products reached around 44,000 residential customers and over 4,000 business customers on a regular basis through social posts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn, and quarterly newsletters. Save on Energy website pages with ENERGY STAR information received approximately 15,000 views.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Attained ENERGY STAR for New Homes certification for all homes built.
  • Prioritized Net Zero Ready homes as an option for future purchasers.
  • Committed to help reduce the carbon footprint of their homes by “building better and more with less” and adopting many environmentally conscious practices as a standard process in all the homes they build.
  • Nominee of the 2023 Chamber of Commerce Award in the Environment & Sustainability category.

Doug Tarry Homes

Doug Tarry Homes has a long history of environmental leadership and innovative building practices. With roots dating back to the beginning of the ENERGY STAR for New Homes program, Doug Tarry Homes has now certified over a thousand ENERGY STAR homes. From innovative framing techniques and HVAC systems combined with sustainable paint solutions and waste reduction, Doug Tarry Homes’ commitment to energy-efficient, environmentally responsible construction is helping shape the future of new home construction.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Attained ENERGY STAR for New Homes certification for all homes built.
  • Launched a panelization company that will reduce waste, natural resources, and time, resulting in more efficient and faster construction schedules.
  • Focused on constructing homes with the least environmental impact possible including innovative framing techniques and heating and cooling methods/equipment, airtight construction and AeroBarrier, sustainable paint solutions and waste reduction.
  • To date, Doug Tarry Homes has built over 1,000 ENERGY STAR certified homes.

Originally constructed in 1976, Horizon's Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, is recognized as a centre of expertise for reconstructive and restorative medicine and as a leading plastic surgery centre. Located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, the hospital is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital uses ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager® to advance energy and decarbonization management practices.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Implemented an ISO 50001-based energy management system.
  • Put in place operational and maintenance best practices including building automation system (BAS) energy monitoring and adjustments and prompt response to maintenance issues ensuring efficiency operation.

Built in 1985, the arena hosts a variety of ice-skating programs including Learn to Skate, Ice-Hockey, Public Skating and more.  By using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, Erin Mills Twin Arena advanced its strategic energy management efforts and was able to meet ambitious energy efficiency goals.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Created an energy dashboard, which continuously monitors building operations and energy consumption.
  • Implemented a fault detection system that can detect issues in building operation and notify building staff to take action.
  • Retrofitted existing fluorescent lights in rinks and interior spaces to LEDs.
  • Upgraded the ice plant equipment and sequence of operation to optimize plant performance and increase efficiency.
  • Switched from hot water to cold water ice resurfacing.

Building of the Year–K-12 School–2023

Bliss Carman Middle School, Anglophone West School District

Located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Anglophone West School District’s Bliss Carman Middle School demonstrated a sustained commitment to improving its energy efficiency and has integrated ENERGY STAR into its energy management program to save energy.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Implemented low occupancy programming to optimize savings during periods of less than full occupancy building use (i.e., professional development days when students are not in school).
  • Improved building management graphics to allow for more rapid response to energy-saving control modes.
  • Used ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager to monitor the progress of changes in the school’s energy use and provided visual feedback on successes.
  • Maintained a culture of energy awareness and conservation (i.e., turning off lights during class if daylighting is sufficient).

This is Bliss Carman Middle School’s second ENERGY STAR Canada award (2022 and 2023).

Etobicoke Wellness Centre

The Etobicoke Wellness Centre was constructed in 2018 as part of the William Osler Health System’s Etobicoke General Hospital Redevelopment Project. Located in Etobicoke, the medical office building is home to physicians’ offices as well as outpatient programs and services. Owned by Morguard and EGH Health Partners Building Limited, Etobicoke Wellness Centre has improved its operational efficiency by using sustainable innovative design.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Implemented adjustments to the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment scheduled for early start-up before peak hours to reduce costs.
  • Adjusted the building automation system time schedule based on tenant turnover.
  • Installed occupancy sensors in tenant spaces and common areas which activated HVAC and lighting systems.
  • Conducted continuous preventative maintenance on electrical and HVAC equipment.
  • Installed variable frequency drive on pump motors to save energy and upgraded the green roof.

This is Etobicoke Wellness Centre’s first ENERGY STAR Canada award!

Building of the Year–Multifamily Housing–2023

Built in the year 2004, 600 Proudfoot Lane is a multifamily residential building situated in the heart of London, Ontario. This building boasts a total of 157 units, each contributing to the vibrant community it nurtures. Ownership of this building rests with BlueStone Properties Inc., while it’s managed by Erna Corr. The multifamily residence leveraged the ENERGY STAR program to achieve its environmental goals and engaged its residents on energy management best practices.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Delivered tenant education on conservation.
  • Retrofitted the parking garage and vanity lighting and initiated a program to upgrade air conditioning units.

Cadillac Fairview, Yonge Corporate Centre - 4110 Yonge Street

Built in 1987, 4110 Yonge Street is located in the Yonge Corporate Centre office park in North York, Ontario. Owned by Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited (CF), the building is set on eight wooded acres overlooking the Don Valley River. The office building is dedicated to reducing its overall energy usage using ENERGY STAR tools and resources. Since 2008, Green at Work®, CF’s national program for operational sustainability, has resulted in portfolio-wide energy savings of over 47%.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Fine-tuned the boiler modulation to ensure maximum efficiency and energy savings while maintaining the integrity of the boilers.
  • Reduced outside air amounts twice during the year while ensuring that the fan systems and CO2 levels were continually monitored to ensure occupant safety and smooth operation.
  • Fine-tuned the chiller plant operation to integrate the operation of all major pieces of equipment such as the chillers, the cooling towers, and chilled water/condenser water pumps. By varying the setpoint for each piece of equipment, the team identified certain combinations that yielded an improvement in the overall chiller plant efficiency.
  • Monitored and implemented regular corrective measures to the building automation system.
  • Conducted several audits and implemented measures to improve the efficiency of the building’s after-hours operation.  

This is Yonge Corporate Centre – 4110 Yonge Street’s second ENERGY STAR Canada award (2018 and 2023).

An office building managed by QuadReal Property Group, 6985 Financial Drive is located within the Meadowvale North Business Park® in Mississauga, Ontario. Built in 2006, 6985 Financial Drive has continued its longstanding commitment to sustainability by implementing ENERGY STAR best practices for comprehensive energy management.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Adjusted heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and lighting systems schedules to reflect building occupancy.
  • Installed electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.
  • Initiated a net zero carbon feasibility study.

This is 6985 Financial Drive’s fourth ENERGY STAR Canada award (2018, 2021, 2022 and 2023).

Sun Life Waterloo King

Located on the border of Kitchener and Waterloo in Ontario, Sun Life Waterloo King is a single-tenant office complex owned by Concert Realty Services Ltd. and managed by BentallGreenOak. This unique office complex is a building composed of nine major constructions, all built between 1912 and 1986. Sun Life Waterloo King demonstrated continued leadership in setting and exceeding energy efficiency and environmental goals and promoting best practices based on ENERGY STAR tools and resources.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Replaced coils in multiple air handling units.
  • Refurbished multiple pumps to improve efficiency.
  • Retrofitted light fixtures in an area of approximately 50,000 ft2 with new LED lights.

Brian Canfield Centre

The Brian Canfield Centre, owned by H&R REIT, Crestpoint Real Estate Investments Ltd., and Vestcor Inc., is located at 3777 Kingsway. Sometimes referred to as the Telus Boot because of its distinctive L-shape, the Brian Canfield Centre is a signature office complex located at the intersection of Boundary Rd. and Kingsway, the gateway to Burnaby, British Columbia. Analysis of each building component’s energy use in real-time has allowed for operational efficiencies to be quickly identified and implemented. The Brian Canfield Centre demonstrated its ongoing commitment to ENERGY STAR and leveraging ENERGY STAR in its energy management program.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Implemented LED lighting retrofits.
  • Updated building controls on electric heating systems.
  • Replaced original heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system fans with modular, fan wall arrangements.

Spartan Controls Grande Prairie Automation Centre

The Spartan Controls Grande Prairie Automation Centre is a non-refrigerated warehouse situated in western Alberta, in the heart of the Peace Region. This facility, owned by Wexford Developments and constructed in 2020, was specifically designed to meet the expanding requirements of industrial automation in Northern Alberta and British Columbia. Over time, the Spartan Controls Grande Prairie Automation Centre has further developed its energy management program, leveraging ENERGY STAR resources to provide leadership across the sector.

Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  • Serviced a record number of valves through the building contributing to significant energy savings.
  • Completed 5 control system upgrades for various customers.
  • Added a steam boiler for liquid valve testing in the building.
