The EBCx Pre-Screening Tool Suite has been designed to help identify and prioritize the most suitable candidates for existing building commissioning.
The suite includes two versions of the tool, both intended for use at the planning phase of the standardized EBCx process.

EBCx Pre-Screening Tool - Portfolio NEW
The Portfolio version allows the entry of data for one or multiple buildings (up to 15) to generate a standardized EBCx Readiness Score (ranging from 0 to 10) for each building. This score provides a clear and objective basis for comparing buildings within a portfolio and prioritizing those with the greatest potential for improvement and project success. The tool automatically produces a report outlining the results and recommending tailored next steps for each building, streamlining the planning process and providing a data-driven foundation for your EBCx strategy.
Important: To ensure full functionality of this Excel tool, users must allow both macros and ActiveX content.
EBCx Pre-Screening Tool – Single Building
The Single Building version is intended for practitioners and stakeholders to perform a more detailed assessment of a single building. It supports the evaluation of both the building’s improvement potential and the organization’s readiness to undertake a successful EBCx project. The tool features a thorough questionnaire that covers key building aspects, from mechanical systems to operational practices. The output enables a qualitative assessment of these two key factors, helping to foster a more holistic planning approach and stronger stakeholder alignment from the outset.

Existing Building Commissioning (EBCx)
EBCx focuses on “tuning up” existing equipment and systems and identifying low-cost or no-cost operational improvements in commercial, institutional, and multi-unit residential buildings.
