Proactive disclosure of exceptions

Under sections 5.3.7 and 5.3.8 of the Policy on Transfer Payments (formerly 6.3.7 and 6.3.8 before April 4, 2022) exceptions approved by a minister must be publicly disclosed in a transparent manner.

Section 5.3.7 – Disclosure of exceptions

The Minister has approved the following exceptions to terms and conditions to provide transfer payments to individual recipients in excess of the maximum amounts authorized by approved terms and conditions.

Details

FESBC, in partnership with the Province of British Columbia, is a catalyst that unifies people around helping communities with sustainability, climate action, increasing First Nations participation in the forest economy, jobs for workers, abundant wildlife and healthy forests. The maximum amount authorized by the terms and conditions of the program is $30,000,000 per year. The Minister, under sections 5.3.7 and 5.3.8 of the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments, has authorized an increase to the contribution agreement with FESBC of $7,000,000 in 2026-27 to support its work providing incremental funding to successful applicants of their Fibre Utilization Funding Program by supporting the processing, loading and hauling of fibre generated through forest management activities.
