Regional Energy and Resource Tables – Engagement
The Regional Tables are designed to be collaborative and include:
- a partnership between the federal government and individual provinces and territories to identify and advance opportunities to build on their respective strengths and recognize their unique mixes of natural resources
- tailored Indigenous engagement to integrate perspectives at the outset and advance reconciliation
- enlisting the input and advice of targeted experts, essential stakeholders, and other partners
Over the last 2 years, we’ve been engaging with provinces and territories, Indigenous partners, industry associations, labour groups, think tanks/thought leaders, and have hosted over 50 in-depth engagement sessions/meetings related to the economic opportunities available in each region.

Under the Regional Tables we commit to engaging and hearing the interests of Indigenous peoples at the outset of the process. That is why the Regional Tables ensure that Indigenous partners in each province and territory are engaged from the outset of the collaborative process.
