Building climate resilience in Canada’s mining sector

Canada’s mining sector is facing both risks and opportunities because of climate change. To help the industry prepare for and adapt to changing conditions, the Mining Association of Canada (MAC), with support from NRCan, developed the Guide on Climate Change Adaptation for the Mining Sector (adaptation guide). The adaptation guide helps mining companies better understand climate impacts and take steps to manage them.

Through this work, Canada’s mining industry is laying the foundation for a more sustainable, competitive, and climate-ready future that supports economic growth while safe-guarding communities, ecosystems, and critical infrastructure.
