Project Objectives

Deline Got’ine Government is engaging with residents to create a community energy plan that will increase energy efficiency and reduce diesel use, create local green jobs, reduce costs for community members, and respond to increasingly limited access to the winter road. The Deline Got'ine Government is in discussions with the utility Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC) on a solar project for net metering in the community.

Expected Results

Through community engagement and training and skills development the Deline Got’ine Government will increase energy literacy and create implementation solutions that meet community needs and priorities. The immediate outcomes and benefits of the project will include reduced emissions, employment opportunities, and other benefits including promoting self-determination for the community and member well-being.
