Project Objectives
This project aims to develop a new line of plasma torches for broad industrial deployment, utilizing a novel internal electrode design to enable increased power capacities relative to existing commercial products. PyroGenesis Canada Inc. will design, build, and test low-power and full-scale prototypes to advance the technology base and provide high-power, robust plasma torches with long electrode life. Once successfully developed and validated, these plasma torches could offer a sustainable alternative to fossil fuel burners for high-temperature heating applications in heavy industries.
Expected Results
This project expects to:
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help Canada move towards a net-zero industry by applying this technology.
- Boost the talent pool for production and application of the technology and contribute to positive socio-economic outcomes.
- Facilitate the Canadian Industry’s access and maintenance to the technology.
