Project Objectives

The objective of this project is to demonstrate new innovations to enable energy alternatives for powering Direct Air Capture (DAC) systems, expanding options for deployment in markets around the world.

Expected Results

This project aims to:

  1. Offer a scalable, cost-effective solution that is applicable across sectors, facilitating a seamless transition to net zero without infrastructure alterations.
  2. Demonstrate next generation processes that will enable transition to an all-electric DAC process as opposed to an electric/natural gas hybrid.
  3. Decouple CO2 emissions from capture points, providing a versatile solution for addressing emissions inaccessible to point source technology or distant from suitable sequestration sites.
  4. Offer superior environmental advantages over other carbon capture and removal methods, with reduced land usage, flexibility to deploy on non-arable land, and lower water consumption compared to alternatives.
  5. Enhance Canada's Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage expertise, showcasing DAC for carbon removal and clean fuels, ensuring continued global leadership in CO2 removal.
