Project Objectives

The goal of this project is to advance the knowledge base of high temperature steam electrolysis for hydrogen and syngas production from CO2 captured from a cement plant.

Expected Results

This project aims to:

  1. Reduce carbon emissions in cement production, aiding industry decarbonization.
  2. Address challenges in synthetic fuel manufacturing via CO2 capture and electrochemical conversion.
  3. Identify modifications needed for solid oxide electrolyser use with cement-derived CO2 and optimize operating conditions for better cell performance and longevity.
