Project Objectives
The objective of this project is to advance a Direct Air Capture technology pathway that aims to develop novel methods to utilize ultramafic mine waste rock to capture and permanently store CO2 in an accelerated geochemical process called carbon mineralization. The aim is to generate insights to commission the design and build of a deployable prototype, ready for commercial demonstration.
Expected Results
This project aims to:
- Create high skilled jobs in Canada.
- Develop Canadian intellectual property to enhance the project's competitive edge.
- Assist Canadian mining operations in mitigating their most challenging carbon dioxide emissions.
- Significantly reduce energy requirements compared to traditional ultramafic rock carbon mineralization methods, thereby cutting costs.
