Project Objectives

Société Kuujjuamiut Inc. is currently engaging broadly with residents of Kuujjuaq and all necessary local and regional organizations to develop a clean energy plan and ensure alignment and support for project development.

Expected Results

Energy education and engagement are key components of this project which will provide community members with relevant knowledge and skills to develop capacity in the community while increasing energy efficiency and reducing diesel usage. In particular Société Kuujjuamiut Inc. is pursuing solar and geothermal projects for energy and heating in shared community buildings as well as exploring the potential of larger scale projects in collaboration with local stakeholders.
