Project Objectives

The Deep Energy Retrofit of JET Building project aims to demonstrate the viability of deep energy retrofits on a large office building that is commonly found throughout Canada to determine optimal pathways to achieve >50% Energy and GHG reductions targeting a payback of 20 years or better.

Expected Results

The project will identify replicable, cost-effective pathways for achieving deep energy reductions in office buildings and will provide the business case for deep energy reductions in that could be replicated by the different stakeholders and inform further projects and policies.

The project will:

• Build stakeholder capacity to design whole-building, integrated deep energy retrofits of commercial buildings.
• Enhance the occupant experience for the proponent’s tenants.
• Modernize the systems of the building with a lens on energy savings
