Québec’s Ministry of Natural Resources – EcoPerformance
Process integration is a highly effective approach for optimizing energy consumption and thus reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in complex, large-scale industrial facilities that use significant amounts of energy.
The Bureau de l’efficacité et de l’innovation énergétique provides financial assistance for energy efficiency and conversion projects. The EcoPerformance program aims at reducing the energy consumption and GHG emissions of companies by funding projects or measures related to energy consumption and production as well as process improvements.
Eligible clients include companies that use fossil fuels or processes generating fugitive GHG emissions. The program is also aimed at both small and large energy consumers.
Funding for Process Integration Studies
For process integration studies, the funding offered may cover up to 50% of eligible expenses up to an amount of $100,000 per site for small and medium consumers and up to $300,000 per site for large consumers.
Funding for Measures Implementation
The EcoPerformance program also includes a component for the implementation of projects aimed at reducing GHG emissions (i.e., projects focusing on energy efficiency, GHG emission reduction or conversion to energy sources with lower GHG emissions). The funding offered can cover up to 75% of eligible expenses up to a total of $5,000,000 per request and $10,000,000 per site and per year.
