Gaz Métro
Process integration is a highly effective approach to optimizing energy consumption and thus reducing greenhouse gas emissions in large and complex industrial facilities with energy-intensive systems.
Gaz Métro provides financial assistance to encourage its customers to conduct feasibility studies, including process integration studies, and implement energy efficiency measures for a more efficient use of natural gas.
Funding for Process Integration Studies
Gaz Métro funding for process integration studies can cover up to 50% of all study costs, up to a maximum of $20,000 per site. The study must cover the entire process as well as service (or utility) production systems.
Funding for the Implementation of Energy Efficiency Measures
Funding for the implementation of energy efficiency measures may be granted based on a project’s payback period before subsidies, and on the total amount of natural gas saved. Financial assistance may not exceed $175,000 per year or 50% of implementation costs. Projects with payback periods of less than 1 year are not eligible.
