Funding for Process Integration Studies at NRCan

Process integration is a highly effective approach to optimizing energy consumption and thus reducing greenhouse gas emissions in large and complex industrial facilities with energy-intensive systems.

Through its ecoENERGY for Industry program, Natural Resources Canada’s Office of Energy Efficiency (OEE) provides eligible Canadian companies with a financial incentive for undertaking process integration studies.

Funding for Process Integration Studies

Funding provided by Natural Resources Canada can cover up to 50% of a process integration study cost, up to a maximum of $40,000.

This incentive is intended to help industrial companies bear the costs of hiring a technical firm to conduct a process integration study, of which the main objective must be to reduce the plant’s energy consumption through the implementation of energy recovery projects. The energy analysis must be site-wide and cover all heating and cooling process requirements as well as other service or utility production systems (steam, hot water, compressed air and refrigeration).

For further information about this funding program, please visit the Office of Energy Efficiency Website .

Other funding programs for process integration studies are also available. Refer to the website’s Funding page to learn more.
