Project Objectives

The objective of this project is to develop a novel photochemical and electrochemical capture and amine regeneration system as an alternative to traditional temperature and pressure swing processes.

Expected Results

This project aims to:

  1. Train 17 high-quality skilled personnel in CO2 capture technology development.
  2. Develop a photoelectrochemical-mediated CO2 capture system that reduces land, water, and heat requirements, easing deployment and minimizing large-scale CCUS impacts.
  3. Lower CO2 capture costs and energy requirements while eliminating the need for steam regeneration.
  4. Enable patenting, academic publication, and conference presentations for knowledge sharing.
