Description |
The Oil and Gas Clean Technology Program aims to support development of cleaner oil and gas technologies, in order to help develop Canada’s hydrocarbon resources in more sustainable ways. Demonstration projects will be conditionally repayable for five years following the end of the project if the project generates profits after completion. |

As per the Policy on Results, this initiative will be evaluated either on its own or in the context of a broader evaluation of the Clean Energy Science and Technology program, which is tentatively scheduled to occur in 2018-19. |
General targeted recipient groups |
Recipients include legal entities validly incorporated or registered in Canada, including electricity and gas utilities, companies, industry associations, research associations, standards organizations, aboriginal and community groups, Canadian academic institutions, and provincial, territorial, regional and municipal governments and their departments and agencies. |
Initiatives to engage applicants and recipients |
Key stakeholders including industry, industry associations and relevant provinces and territories were consulted to develop the scope of the call for proposals. In addition, an information session was held with potential applicants on July 6, 2016, to answer questions on the call for proposal launched on June 22, 2016. |
