Transcript

A CoolSolution facility has three specific characteristics.

To begin with, the refrigeration system is integrated with the ventilation and heating systems. This allows rejected heat to be recovered and used to provide heat to the arena, domestic hot water, ice resurfacing water, and even meet other heating needs.

Next, the refrigeration system adapts to the fluctuations of the outside temperature providing a boost to the system’s overall capacity and performance.

Lastly, CoolSolution requires only very small charge of synthetic refrigerants. These refrigerants can even be replaced by natural refrigerants like ammonia. All this leads to a radical reduction in greenhouse gas emissions due to synthetic refrigerant leaks.

Managed by CanmetENERGY at the Varennes (Quebec) research centre.
