What’s New in the 2023 Online Truck Tool?
- The emission factors for NOx, PM and Black Carbon have been updated using US EPA’s MOVES3.1 emissions model. (Note: CO2 factors remain unchanged.)
- Before beginning your data collection, you must now identify the last calendar year for which you have full annual (12 months) data. This means that you have data from January of the calendar year through December of the same year. Newly formed fleets require a minimum of 12 months of operational data.
- Biofuels have been defined to include biodiesel and renewable diesel.
- The Is this the Right Tool for Me screen has been updated to include detailed guidance for entering brokerage activity and for multimodal partners.
- Partners are limited to defining 20 or fewer truck fleets.
- Emissions associated with charging battery electric trucks (Scope 2 emissions) are no longer included in the Emissions Report but are presented separately in the Public Disclosure Report. These emissions are also excluded when calculating fleet performance metrics.
- The previous ‘Internal Use Only Fleet’ (IUOF) question in the Fleet Characterization section has been replaced with two new ‘Fleet Visibility’ questions which are asked of users who choose to report their brokerage activity via the Online Logistics Tool (OLT), who identify themselves as multimodal carriers, or who designate their truck fleet as ‘Private’. This was done to avoid users accidentally designating their fleets as IUOF which makes their fleet invisible to their customers, and requires the user submit an OLT later in the year to remain in Good Standing.
- Miscellaneous screen format and text updates to improve tool usability.
