Entities with a qualified natural gas energy system evaluation issued at construction ready stage, must submit an annual progress report.
The report will include a list of property intended for annual claims to CRA, in each given taxation year.
The clean electricity property you identify in the annual progress reports will be verified against the latest system evaluation and QNGES Property List, as identified in the construction ready design of the system.
The technical verification of annual claims is designed to support CRA in processing the tax credit claim.
Note: Annual progress reports are not a prerequisite for your claim submission to CRA. They are required for NRCan to verify that the equipment, intended for the ITC claim, is equipment described in the definition of “qualified natural gas energy equipment” in subsection 127.491(1) of the ITA.
