Flow chart depicting the impacts and vulnerabilities that occur as a result of climate change (including variability) and their subsequent effects. Impacts and vulnerabilities include exposure, initial impacts or effects, autonomous adaptation and residual or net impacts. These result in responses which can come in the form of planned adaptation to the impacts and vulnerabilities who have subsequent effects on the need to adapt in the future. Responses can also result in mitigation of climate change via greenhouse gas sources and sinks, leading to human interference and climate change and variability.
