Project Objectives
The objective of this project is to provide clean and convenient transportation for a sustainable community in London Ontario’s West 5 community.
The project will demonstrate community-shared electric vehicles (EVs) and the integration of innovative technologies including robotics, wireless charging, autonomous vehicles, automated parking towers and vehicle to grid charging in an urban area.
Autonomously dispatched EVs to resident’s homes will reduce the need for car ownership in the community and provide clean and convenient transportation for sustainable communities.
Expected Results
EVAP will address barriers to EV adoption by validating convenient automated charging infrastructure while addressing utility concerns regarding grid destabilization.
The operation of a pool of autonomous EVs on private roads will also allow the safe testing of novel technologies in a controlled environment and provide a charging solution in multi-unit resident buildings.
